| Question by Proud mom to Alyssa Marie!: cloth diapering mamas do you think Kushies AIO’s are too bulky and have you tried Bumkins covers?
I’m wanting to try both, and they both have good AND bad reveiws. what’s your opinion? Thanks in advance!
Yeah I’ve seen those on Ebay! The sunbaby, A friend of mine bought some and I was waiting to see if she liked them. I’m wanting to try those. My main concerns the fit of the diapers and covers since I’ll be a SAHM and have no problem with changing diapers asap

I havnt tried any of those but I am currently using Bottoms Up brand (they are homemade by some lady in OHIO so you can get them on ebay for cheap + free shipping)

I also am using SunBaby. only available on eBay.
They go for about US a diaper.
I just bought 10 one size pocket diapers + 10 washable inserts for free shipping. They are nice and work well and are an awesome price.

What do you think? Answer below!

There are just a few products that I think are worth buying “name brand” and these Bumkins bibs are one of them. They are soft, and flexible… and more importantly, launder extremely well!!! No matter how many times you wash them, they don’t crack or get nasty. We bought a set for baby #1, and have used them 2 years. I’ve liked this brand so much, we’re buying another set for baby #2 :O) For babies on a liquid diet or for feeding soups, an “absorbent” bib would be a better choice. But these are perfect for solid feeding. Highly recommended!

This was my 2nd bumkins bibs purchase, and these ones are a little bit thicker than the girly 3 pack version we first purchased. Both have their purpose, but really they are the best bibs! So easy to clean, and they actually catch a ton of food (vs. others with catchers that seem to miss food as it falls)

These bibs are an absolute must have. If your baby is anything like ours, most of the food will most likely end up on these bibs when they first start on solids.

Here’s what we love about these bibs:

    - Easy to clean (use a wet paper towel to wipe clean)

    - Also machine washable

    - Fabric is soft yet waterproof, and also very durable

    - The bibs are adjustable (there’s about a 2 inch long strip of velcro instead of the one size fits all bibs, allows you to keep the bib as tight or loose as you like

    - The colorful designs are easily recognizable, so my son knows that when we put these bibs on, it’s time to eat

These bibs are colorful and waterproof, easy to put on and to wash. The designs are bright and fun, and our daughter loves them. The neck is wide enough to fit a toddler, and the pocket actually catches food.

I used these with my daughter and they held up so much better than any others. I washed them with the clothes and am still using them on my newborn son! They lay flat on chest where as some of the other products were in the babies face. These were “softer”

I am not currently cloth diapering but plan on it.

    I was given this website
    www.motherease.com

my friend used the one sized diaper and she loved them.
she said to spend the little bit extra and go for the bamboo. they absorb better.

she was even able to pass them down to her sis in law.

I have and do currently use both.
The Kuhies I do not really care for all that much. They do-not hae elastic in the waist, so I feel like they do not fit all that well around my son’s chunky middle. And the seem to feel really wet inside when he pees. So I really only use them on wash day and never overnight. As far as being too bulky, I don’t think they are overly bulky.
The Bumkins covers I have are the old style I think, they have the square tabs. They are great. They don’t ever leak and they fit very well. Even my husband can put them on our son. And the can be used several times before needing to be washed. My husband actually likes to wash them in the sink with a little baby soap and hang them to dry. And then I will wash them in the wash about once a week.
Here is a link to a site that has reviews for pretty much every cloth diaper on the market, along with where to buy and average price.
    Hope this helps.

If you are worried about fit, I would try out Softbums Perfect Fit diapers. I had a lot of “fit” problems on my kids until I got these. They really were a perfect fit, for BOTH my kids. With the touchtape fasteners on the waist and the adjustable rise, it can fit any baby just right. I like the fact that as your baby grows, there are absolutely no “inbetween” size gaps with this cover. You never have to worry about buying a different size of cover. 2 1/2 years is a long time for 10 covers to last, so I’m guessing you might replace them half-way along, but they might last, who knows?

    Softbums comes with snap-in inserts
microfiber for $5 or bamboo for $9, they also have doublers which are good for naps or when it will be awhile between diaper changes. In a pinch, I have used prefolds in my softbums covers as well.

You would probably want about 10-12 covers if starting with a newborn and 6-8 for an older baby.

I use bumgenious 3.0 at night, because the softbums are too trim for the extra doublers I like to use at night.
