Car Seat Safety And Recalls?
Question by AdriennePlus2: Car Seat Safety And Recalls?
Does anybody know where I could find pictures, parts, and safety recalls for this car seat and base? It is an Evenflo “On my way” car seat.
Model Number:2071c5p1
Manufacturers Date:June 2, 1998
I bought it used a while ago and the previous owners ripped all the stickers off so all I could find was the sticker that was on the base and it might not even go with the carrier it looks like it is in better condition so I want to figure out the car seat and I already looked on google???????

google it?
or on the manufactures website
What do you think? Answer below!
Remember RF is the safest!!! I made this video because people were having questions about the turn knobs. I also did the recline function again. It’s not really as loud as the video projects, for some reason it magnified the sound. Thanks for watching.

I would google it or call the manufacturer. If you own the car seat sounds like it has long expired.
Toss the carseat and get a new one. It expired in 2004. Though you might not see anything wrong with it, there might be some hair line cracks. You can get replacement parts to new car seats but not something this sold.
Here is a link about expired car seats:

have you tried evenflo.com??? I dont think you can uy replacement parts for any safety seat tho. oh wait, I just realized the manufactures date, do you realize that car seats have an expiration date??? They are only good for 6 years from the manufacturers date. It’s true, GOOGLE this! and toss that car seat out!
Here you go :-
A car seat if installed properly reduces chances of baby injuries up to 75% and thus preserves them in case of accidents. Government has laid few car seat safety standards for baby products which may vary from state to state.. pls do visit the source link to have complete information on the topic.
It is expired and will no longer be recommended to use. They haven’t made these for quite a while…
Buy a new carseat.
Here is a “cheap” one… its back adjusting, which can be a PITA, but way safer then using that expired 10 year old seat.

If you can jump to this:

YOu’d get one with a front adjustment, which is much easier.
If you cannot afford a carseat, contact your local safekids or find a carseat tech near you – www.seatcheck.org – they can point you in the right direction.
This seat can’t be snapped in and out of the car like an infant seat. You could bring it inside, but then you’d have to reinstall it everytime. (Which can increase the chances of it not being installed correctly every time.) The trick to get it in the reclined position is to tip the seat back before you actually install it.
Id like to see how one could convert it from the rear facing to the forward facing position and back again. Can the entire seat be detached and brought indoors, for example when the baby is sleeping? A video of those features would help clarify. Thanks for posting.
Yeah, maybe they’ll change the symphony to 50 or 65lbs and be comparible to a Nautilis. But I’m really glad that they FINALLY made an EH seat.
I’m so glad that you like the seat.
I installed one in my car today, it is perfect, the perfect install and the perfect seat for us.. if only the harness went to 65 lbs
that is the one down side of it
I have three radians too, I love them also.. I thought the shell of the marathon looked high but this is good to know.. I might get another radian? or this? hmm (I was about to buy a marathon)
The seat height is comparable to a Britax marathon, I think only Radians have heigher shells, but they can be a beast to install. My almost 3 year old is in this seat now and he has a good couple inches and quite a few pounds left before having to turn forward facing. It would all depend on how his torso grows. Just make sure it says “Advance” in the name, all other evenflo convertibles have pretty short shells.
I honestly love this seat more than my Radian and Britax seats.
I am looking into getting one of these seats for my son, we are an extended rear facing family too.. I am curious how tall was she before she could no longer rear face.. I sat my 3.5 year old in it and her head was exactly an inch from the top.. but she is only 32 lbs (we had to turn her around a month ago for height) I am hesitant as it looks like a shorter seat and my kids tend to grow out of the height for their seats before the weight?
What do you think?
I think that you have to do it when you put the seat in. I’m going to send you a private message.
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing with us. Can the sit’s angle be adjusted during driving/after sit has been installed, or I have to remove the saftebelt before re-adjusting the angle?
Thanks!!
Shay.
I must add that only the 45 degree angle recline can be used RF.
thank you so much for this review! I am having a new babe and I been looking at this model
Your daughter is adorable!
She is too big to RF. She’s 3 1/2 years old and is FF. She weighed 35lbs the last time she got wieghed.
I do believe in ERF, thanks for the comment.
Is she rear facing or foward facing? Im assuming that she is FF, but I cant tell how much she weighs. Shes probably over 35 lbs, but just curious. And Im sure that is she was under you would have her RF, just curious though.
Thanks for that!
