The most difficult of these has got to be the changing and cleaning of reusable diapers or nappies as they are commonly referred to. Disposable baby diapers consist of inbuilt layers through which urine is transferred and dispersed to the core of the diaper where it’s trapped with the aid of absorbent chemicals. The outer layer usually has a film which keeps it dry while the inner layer absorbs and traps wetness. Next to the skin, is a layer that’s made from non woven material underneath which is a distribution layer, which causes moisture to be transferred into the inner absorbent core. Fasteners are usually attached to disposable diapers to hold them in place in addition to which they normally have elastic around the waist and leg areas. As a rule, disposable babies are designed to be as comfortable and attractive possible and usually have colorful designs, are smooth and gentle to the touch and are often scented.
Considering the high birth rates of most countries, coupled with high standards of living, baby diaper production is a truly profitable enterprise if well planned and managed. Baby diaper making machines consist of a coordinated system which may produce as many as one two hundred pieces of diapers per minute. The process involves constructing the various layers of the undergarment and attaching the fasteners and elastic bands. Finally, the machine arranges the diapers according to product specification.

| Question by Emily P: Any info on a swish stick for reusable diapers?
I have a 6 month old son and a friend recommended that I get a swish stick for my reusable diapers. Can anyone give me information on the swish stick, and where I may be able to get one? I would really appreciate it!! Thanks!

In an effort to create less trash, I decided to buy reusable swim diapers. I used these most of the summer and loved them. I knew a poop in one of these would be bad, but I had no idea. I avoided it at all costs by using a disposable swim diaper before my son “did his business” and these reusable ones after. Sadly, this system failed me miserably and I was left with the MOST disgusting poop-mess known to all. And yes, I’ve seen a lot of poop. You cannot detach the sides (as you can with a disposable swim diaper), therefore your only course of action is to pull it, along with all of the poop, down your child’s legs. I went through my entire container of wipes along with my friend’s trying to clean the poop off myself and my child. This diaper went promptly into the trash. I’ve switched back to disposable swim-diapers and I’m never going back (unless I find a reusable swim-diaper that detaches on both sides of the leg). BEWARE!

I bought this swim diaper because we are not allow to use disposable diapers in the swimming pool we attend. I am happy with this product. It is well made and fits my son perfectly.

We bought a pool for the summer and I wanted some reuseable swim diapers. There aren’t many reviews on this product so I thought I should leave one. These are great for my son who is 13 months old and 23 lbs. He may actually outgrow these swim diapers before the summer is over, I think they run a bit small. But the purpose is to hold in (oh how do you say this nicely) #2’s only. He actually hasn’t done that while wearing them, but another review warned that with no pull-away sides that could get messy. But if your child is a scheduled baby like ours – no problem! I like the fabric (nice and thick) and the pattern would have been fine, he just wears trunks over them. All in all I’ll probably get an XL pair for the end of the summer. These are SUCH a bargain compared to the disposable ones and he seems to prefer these. He hated the feeling of the wet swimmer diapers, and loves these much better.

Better than swim diapers, and they will dry out if your playing outside, whereas a swim diaper stays wet for quite a while.
They come with gDiaper covers. They are basically just a plastic stick that you use to break up the flushable liner, so I never use them because my apartment’s ancient plumbing can’t take a flushable liner (I throw them away).
They are nothing special. You could dedicate something like a plastic spoon or spatula or something like that to the purpose and it would work just the same.
I cloth diaper and we use a diaper sprayer instead of a swish stick. You can make one yourself or buy them, but it’s the sprayer from a sink attached to the toilet and you can spray off the poo using it. It’s made my life a ton easier!
