Everyone who looks at this question has an idea what I’m on about…
Just today at Auckland Uni I had to sit through two hours of a white looking woman who claimed Maori – lecture us on why we as a nation need to do EVEN more to aid Maori and Pacific Islanders – this kind of thing actually makes most sane people sick; and if it doesnt I can’t help you
We’re a small country we should at least have little to know traffic problems right?? A wistful idea.
Even at Uni, the people are just a bunch of country bumkins – walking around in jandals and probably talking about the best ways of milking or feeding livestock…
Err. Maybe Im just too Hollywood for this place – either way I’ll just keep cashing in my student loan and gap this hopeless place in a year or two.. Ha and they wonder why most educated people leave and never come back…
So does anyone have any ideas why NZ is so lame or how it can be improved?

I love Keith Haring so that’s why I bought this. I am currently using it as a wallet, it zips all the way up so everything stays put- my last wallet was leather and in time it stretched out and things would fall out of the end sometimes. This has zipper pouches on both sides and 6 slots for credit cards inside, along with a window slot for your ID. I have a thin phone, too, so I can actually zip up my phone inside of it. Love the handle, too!
IDK I think NZ looks beautiful but I know nothing of it. I would like to visit, though.

Why is it called NEW Zealand? Its been called that for ages now. Should just be called Zealand.
Certainly some big, self important Hollywood type like you can influence those country bumpkins and engineer a plan to transform Auckland into the cosmopolitan paradise it doesn’t want to become…
Well you are true on most points here.
Giving the maori all their land back was bullshyte. Did they give the beads and mirrors we bought the land with back to us? Answer is no. They can count themselves lucky the spanish didnt land there first because they would have wiped them to almost extinction. If you are a maori in NZ you get gifted everything and half of them are lazy bums.
As for traffic problems, that happens with no mass transit. Go to Sydney or Melbourne or even Brisbane. You can catch trains all over the joint. You dont have a car in NZ you are stuffed.
You meet a few country bumpkins but I would have them over the anal city w@nkers any day of the week.
Most educated people leave because the cost of living is too high and wages too low. I make twice as much in Aussie and it costs the same to live here.
Decent wages would go a long way to NZ retaining educated people but that isnt going to happen.
Still I support the All Blacks whenever they play and do enjoy holidaying there. Wouldnt live there again though
I moved from the States to NZ with my family (my dad’s a Kiwi, btw). We thought it would be a nicer environment for us to live in, more laid back etc.
*sigh* We were wrong. Very, very wrong.
Good news: we’re moving back soon. Thank God.
BUT, are you an American? If you are, why did you even come here for college? lol. The education system in New Zealand has to be one of the worst I’ve ever seen, and I’ve lived in quite a few different countries and went to school in them.
And we thought the US schooling system was bad xD ha.
And I wouldn’t use the term ‘Hollywood’. Maybe something more like ‘Educated’….lol.
Well first of all im pround to be a kiwi, and would rather live in New Zealand than the USA!
I hardly think that Americans are more “educated’ than new Zealanders, Most of you Americans don’t even know where NZ is. Have a look at yourself before calling us ‘country bumpkins’
And as for horesegirl, yeh you can go back to America, with all your guns and gangs and ignorant attitude to the rest of the world , god knows why you would want to live in the states over NZ

O right you are in Auckland. Have you actually been to any other places in New Zealand. To most people Auckland is not really part of New Zealand. they are a bunch of JAFA’s up there (sorry to all the people who i know are not JAFA’s but still live there).

the first 5 minutes into my study at Avalon TV school i was told if i was pacific islander or maori i didnt have to pay the fees – - – wondeful racism in NZ…………….. all non maori owe maori a living in NZ it seems?

Don’t call the whole of NZ a joke, just because one woman thinks that way. the rest of us are pretty down to earth, pretty knowledgable on the world.
If you really thing that the rest of NZ is as lame as the lecturer, maybe you should leave and we won’t miss you.
