Barney’s Little Lessons: Going To My Big Bed
Barney’s Little Lessons: Going To My Big Bed
Emily isn’t sure her new big bed is such a good idea until Baby Bop shows her the fun new purple and pink sheets, BJ shows her how to make a tent of pillows and blankets. And Barney shows her how much room there is for a good night story! The audience will really relate to this story, which focuses on an important toddler developmental moment.

My 2 year old loves this book. We are about ready to transition her to a big bed and I hope this book helps. We have already tried once and didn’t succeed since she wanted to be back in her crib, but it could have been too early. I think reading these types of books to her will help her to understand this time. She also loves Barney, so that helps. Good book.

We bought this book for our daughter a few months before we bought her “big girl bed.” She enjoyed the book, but it wasn’t one of her favorites to read and I’m not sure it really made any difference in whether or not she transitioned to the big bed better or not. She was more excited to be getting a big bed just like her best friend and never really referred to the story in this book when she spoke about the big girl bed. So it wasn’t bad – but it wasn’t great, either.

This is a sweet book that has Barney share the difference between the crib and the “big bed”. It serves its purpose to encourage the child to see that going to the big bed is a good thing. Not the best book on the subject but if they like Barney (and what child doesn’t?)they will like this.
