I haven’t read it since I was a little kid, but I remember thinking it was an awesome book. As a kid, I thought it was cool to read about a family of ducks. I seem to recall that the pictures were pretty cool too

simply enough … it’s a classic. It’s a favorite, very memorable. And when you have a passion for a story, with an emotional connection you’re going to share it. Usually passing it down to children, etc…
It’s a pre-primer. It appeals to young children and their curiosity about animals, but in a context that is familiar with city children.
