Welcome to parenthood! Joy, amazement, new found emotions – once the intensity of all these decreases a little, young mothers discover that some aspects of their body are not quite as they would like them to be. Well, ladies, there is no need to over-worry: your organism will get back to its former state shortly, and a few weeks of carefully chosen cosmetic treatments will help appease any unwanted trace.

One of the most often occurring issues (over 50% of women get them after giving birth) are stretch marks. These appear when the elastic layer of the skin, the dermis, breaks in places due to the prolonged stretching that pregnancy entails. Unfortunately, as these marks are actually scars, they cannot be undone; the severity of them, the aspect, depends on the level of hydration you maintained during the pregnancy, the weight gain etc.

Should you find yourself facing these dreaded marks on your skin, start the battle with some targeted cosmetics. First of all, though, pay a visit to the doctor, as some substances, such as tretinoin, may be absorbed and then released in your breast milk, therefore affecting your baby. You would be taking a smaller risk with organic products that are based on natural ingredients (for instance ivy, cocoa butter, horsetail). These are powerful and specific moisturizers, full of vitamins and essential fatty oils. Massage the affected areas with the product of your choice and see how the stretch marks blend in with the surrounding skin.

Another frequent complaint during the postpartum period is that hair seems to be falling out like theres no tomorrow. This is partly an impression cause by the fact that during the pregnancy your hair looked shinier and healthier; in fact, all that is happening now is a return to normalcy. Your hormones are no longer at soaring levels, and it shows in all sorts of ways, including hair. If you want to make sure that this deceleration doesnt spiral out of control, you should wash your scalp and hair a tad more often and, in any case, more regularly, with a mild shampoo that contains as few chemicals as possible; this stimulates the follicles and, of course, keeps your scalp and hair clean. Also, it is best to stay away from those styling products and procedures for a while.

In any case, you should congratulate yourself for having a baby at a young age, because the effects on your body are reduced to a minimum. Also, the recovery of skin and hair will most probably be complete; you can make it take less time by helping yourself to some hydrating, natural cosmetics. So keep your hair on and enjoy this new stage of your life!

For healthy and strong hair you can use Philip Kingsley Hair for immediate effect.
