Answer by Andromeda
Look at the painting and find any features that are interesting – any certain style of the artist (for example, is it realistic or impressionistic, does it look like an illustration, are there lots of straight lines or flowing lines), that would narrow it down for you to go to the library or google or explain to someone about it, is there an artist signature? That would be a LOT more helpful?
Or even a picture? You never know, someone could help?

How to Properly Address Baby Colics

Baby colics are something that mothers should not be afraid of. Colics are said to be natural in babies and part of their growing up. The only thing about baby colics is the fact that mothers would be in a harried situation once their babies would be under its attack. Mothers are always worried every time babies wails and cries for no apparent reasons. New mothers are most vulnerable to bouts of nervousness once their first newborn babies will have about of baby colics.

By addressing baby colics properly, mothers can minimize the discomfort and pain their babies will have to undergo. Likewise, mothers should learn and understand all about baby colics and how it can make their babies cry and wail for a long time once their babies is under attack. Although baby colics is accepted as part of growing up, mothers are troubled no end by the endless crying and wailing of their babies most especially during night time. Its attacks on babies gradually diminish as babies gets older.

Baby colics are caused by the accumulation of gas in babies intestines. That is why one of the sure signs that babies are suffering from its attacks are when their stomachs are bloated and they cry and wail by stretching and arching their backs with arms and legs flailing everywhere. Sometimes they cry in a fetal position with their knees on their abdomen.

This accumulation of gas in babies intestines that causes this disease are caused by several factors. Babies who are being breastfeed can get the disease through the foods that their mothers eat. Mothers who are breastfeeding their babies should desist from eating gas producing foods. Otherwise, the gas producing foods that they eat will also be ingested by their babies through their milk and would produce the excess gas in the stomachs of babies resulting to baby colics

For babies who are bottle feed, the cause of this disease can be from the used nipples that are used with stretched holes on it. Stretched holes in used nipples would permit a large volume of air to enter the stomach of babies when they sucked on the nipples for milk, unlike new nipples with just the right small hole on them that would only permit milk from being sucked by babies. Thus, to preclude bottle fed babies from having it, mothers should always inspect the nipples their babies are being feed from.

Organic Alternatives

You might think that harsh chemicals are just part of everyday modern life, but innovative thought and growing organic-based companies are changing that. Now, you can find organic, environmentally friendly alternatives to a number of things you might not have thought possible. Start living green without sacrificing convenience.

Insecticide:

You’ve read the labels on most household bug sprays. The same chemicals that eliminate pests are potentially toxic and could harm your family and pets. Now, thanks to companies like EcoSMART (www.ecosmart.com) and its botanical formulas, you can rid your home of pests without jeopardizing your family’s health. Research shows that the organic plant oils in EcoSMART products are not only effective against a broad spectrum of insect pests but that they have no known pest resistance — something even the conventional pest sprays can’t boast!

Plus, you won’t have the inconvenience of having to evacuate your home with organic insecticides. After all, it’s the bugs you’re trying to get out of the house — not your family!

Household Cleaners:

Of course you want your home as clean as it can be, but you shouldn’t have to sacrifice safety. The truth is, most household cleaning jobs can be accomplished with a simple combination of vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda, and dish soap. It’s understandable, though, if you don’t want to juice a bag of lemons every time you want to clean your home. Luckily there are a number of organic, Earth-friendly cleaners available at stores conveniently near you.

Brands like Seventh Generation (www.seventhgeneration.com) offer natural alternatives for all sorts of household messes. With scents like lemongrass & Clementine, you don’t have to sacrifice the fresh smell of a clean home — as a matter of fact, your home might smell even better! Alternatively, “free & clear” products without fragrances or dyes are a perfect choice should anyone in your family have allergies.

Cosmetics and Toiletries:

The cosmetics industry has had troubles with claims of animal testing, but people often forget that many of the chemicals and ingredients in makeup and toiletries can be harmful to you and the environment. Whether you’re looking for a lotion that’s safe for use on you and your children or the hottest shade of lip color, turn to products like the Burt’s Bees (www.burtsbees.com) line of personal care items.

Burt’s Bees products are made out of nearly 100% natural materials with a focus on environmental sustainability. Plus, the company is making an effort to ensure that personal care products are not mislabeled as natural. The Burt’s Bees goal is to: “create natural, Earth-friendly personal care products formulated to help you maximize your well-being and that of the world around you.”

Clothing and Textiles:

You may not have even known that organic textiles are an option. But, when you take into consideration all of the manufacturing steps that go into producing the fabric at your local store, you’ll realize how exciting organic fabrics really are! Just think of all of the pesticides used in conventional cotton production — you can help your health and the planet’s health by choosing for more sustainable options.

From bamboo and flax to hemp and even old water bottles, there are a number of fabrics you might not have even considered that are better for the environment — and fun to talk about! Be sure to wear your bamboo socks next time your friends get together for a hike!

Paint:

Have you ever been in a room with fresh paint? It smells and the fumes can easily give you a headache or make you feel ill. And, many conventional paints release low-level toxins into the air for years after their application. But don’t worry, you’re not doomed to a life of colorlessness in order to keep your home safe. Simply turn to non-toxic — or even organic — paints. Look for labels that say “zero VOC” for your best bet. Though each can may cost a little more, your family’s health — and getting rid of that unpleasant paint smell — is well worth it.

Even some of your favorite paint brands are starting to carry these greener alternatives. Check out the Sherwin Williams “Green Sure” initiative (http://www.sherwin.com/do_it_yourself/sherwin_williams_products/green/) to see what’s going on to make paint a little greener.

Answer by Sourkandy19
I can’t say for sure, but more than likely if it’s a Graco, you’re gonna have to buy a graco stroller. My Quattro travel system came WITH a snug ride car seat, so that should definatly fit. Your absolute best bet….Bring the car seat with you when you go stroller shopping and put it on different strollers to see if it fits well.! Best of luck!

About Graco
In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world’s first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world’s leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on.

Question by MommyinMay: For everyone that has Graco “My Ride 65″ convertible carseat?
I really like the pink graco my ride 65 seat, i was wondering if the interlining(that pink w/dots pillow looking middle) of the carseat can be used for babies are 6 months +……or would i have to take it out? my daughter is 9 months. thank you

Best answer:

Answer by Audrey’s mommy♥
i have that carseat and that model, and it depends on the height of the baby. it says you can only use it with the bottom 2 sets of harness slots only. my 9 month old can not use it because she uses the 3rd harness slot. sorry, i’m not sure how tall she is, but she had to use the 3rd harness with she was 8 months old also. hope this helps

*if you go to babies r us, look at the warning label on the pillow. also, i’d sit my baby in it to see what slot she’d need.

Customer Review:

I like to buy on Amazon.com. It saves me a lot of time and its convientent. They managed to get 60 more diapers for only $ 6.00 more. Huggies has always been my favorite. I used all my three children. It works best for me.

Great product, excellent price

Huggies never disappoints – neither does Amazon, especially with this price. Be sure to sign up for the subscription … we did and save more monthly than some of the large box stores (e.g. Costco, Wal-Mart, etc.)

Use during the day and at night I use little movers

I used to use pampers but then they put the drymax that caused horrible diaper rash for my child. So we quit using them. Then I decided to try huggies snug and dry. They are decent for during the day time but not night time. My child is almost a year and I only put these on during the day because there is no overnight protection. He doesn’t seem to get diaper rash which is good and they are inexpensive during the day. (extra bonus) — At night time we use Huggies little movers and he has been walking up every morning dry for 3 months straight! I even purchased the huggies swimmers for the pool recently and they work great too!

DiscountHuggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 4 Giant Pack, 140-Count

HUGGIES Beats Pampers

From the time my baby was born until she was about 20 pounds, I used the Pampers Swaddlers New Baby. However, Pampers does not make those diapers in Size 3 or bigger sizes. So, I compared the next Pamper in the lineup with Huggies Snug and Dry, and Huggies were far superior at this stage. They are softer, do not leak, are not plasticy feeling like the comparable Pampers.

I will forever stay with Pampers for new babies and Huggies after that.

Low PriceHuggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 4 Giant Pack, 140-Count

Best deal

At 25 cents a diaper you can’t get much cheaper than this. Not to mention its the largest bulk size that I’ve been able to find. My wife loves having the 150 diapers at hand and I love saving all the money, my son however doesn’t really care for them though since he just poops in them!

These are nearly 50% cheaper per diaper than a small pack you would pick up at a drug store or something.

Lowest PriceHuggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 4 Giant Pack, 140-Count

Love the convenience of subscribe & save for diapers

My son will be 3 in a few months and for about a year now we’ve used the size 4, Huggies box of 150 through Subscribe & Save. The box was just the right size to last a month, so we were usually down to the last 5-10 diapers when the next box arrived at our doorstep. So convenient! I was sorry to learn that this particular item is being discontinued (not sure if it’s the size or the availability through subscribe and save) but as it happens we’re far enough in the potty training that I needed to cancel it anyway. Definitely worth doing again if we had another one.

PurchaseHuggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 4 Giant Pack, 140-Count

Only diapers we will buy

When I had my daughter I vowed that we would not be above using generic store-brand diapers for her to help cut back on costs. And for a while we did use store brands – several of them (Walmart, Target, CVS, Toys R’ Us), before discovering that none of them were quite as good as the name brands. A few of them were horrible at absorbing liquids, and a few of them just fit very awkwardly, like they were not cut to fit the contours of a baby’s body.

Pampers and Luvs I dislike because they are scented and therefore not great for babies with sensitive skin – they constantly caused diaper rash.

Which brought us to Huggies. Not only do I find the Huggies to have a far-superior fit (they are shaped to the curves of a baby’s legs) but they are also unscented and most importantly super absorbent. They may not be as cheap as the store brands but knowing my daughter is wearing a diaper that absorbs well and fits great is what matters to me. We’ve used Huggies since stage one (including the over-night ones) and have never had any problems with leaks or diaper rash – they are the only diapers I will buy.

Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 4 Giant Pack, 140-Countbest Price

As Expected

I bought these for my 9 month old granddaughter. The Huggies perform just as good as Pampers. No complaints with Huggies. I always scan the prices of Pampers, Huggies, and Luvs and buy the best value at the time. Anytime you can find a size 3 diaper for between .18 – .23 each, go for it.

Customer Review:

We love Huggies! When my kiddo was smaller Huggies seemed to leak on him and the fit wasn’t right but when he hit a size 4 diaper, I like Huggies now as much as, if not more than Pampers and Luvs. They all work for him but there is something about the fit of the Huggies I like more now! A basic diaper – it isn’t super soft but works well for the everyday normal routine. I would buy again!

The best for your money

I love buying on Amazon.com. It saves me time and its very convientent. I am able to get 60 extra diapers for only 6.00 dollars more. Huggies have always been my favorite. I have used them with all my 3 kids. The work the best for me.

Shop ForHuggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 3 Giant Pack, 156-Count

Love the convenience of subscribe & save for diapers

My son will be 3 in a few months and for about a year now we’ve used the size 4, Huggies box of 150 through Subscribe & Save. The box was just the right size to last a month, so we were usually down to the last 5-10 diapers when the next box arrived at our doorstep. So convenient! I was sorry to learn that this particular item is being discontinued (not sure if it’s the size or the availability through subscribe and save) but as it happens we’re far enough in the potty training that I needed to cancel it anyway. Definitely worth doing again if we had another one.

Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 3 Giant Pack, 156-Count

Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Step 3 Giant Pack, 156-Countsale

Review of the Graco Quattro Stroller

This is a review of the Graco Quattro Stroller. A little background information about us–my wife and a I re expecting our first baby in a few months, so we’ve been conducting some serious research on various baby accoutrements before purchasing anything. Of course, we also did our research on strollers and that’s what this article is about, and how we came to choose the Graco Quattro Stroller over all the others.

From our research, we concluded that the Graco Quattro Stroller was the way to go. The first thing you must know is that we didn’t come to our decision lightly. This is our very first child, and we want to be careful to choose only the best and safest products. We’d heard friends and relatives mention the Graco brand and knew its reputation for quality and safety.

What we found out about the Graco Quattro Strollers:

The Graco Quattro series of strollers are the ultimate in comfort and style. The Graco Quattro Strollers have been labeled as the sport utility vehicles of strollers, and for good reason. They are more than just sturdy and well built–they’re also ultra-convenient and extra-comfortable. Most Graco Strollers have a strong aluminum frame and are capable of holding a small toddler, and up to a 50 lb infant.

Plus, the Graco Quattro Stroller easily folds with one hand. It also includes a dual cup holder for you, and a child’s tray for the baby. I can’t forget to mention the reclining seat, and the flip up bassinet, and the drop down basket. You’ll have to see all of these accessories for yourself to really appreciate them.

What we loved about the Graco Quattro Strollers

Graco provides a series of neutral colors and this will prove useful in the future if we decide to have another child and that one happens to be a girl. We won’t have to buy a whole new stroller of a different color.

The Graco Quattro Stroller comes with a variety of amenities that are useful for the parent (i.e. cup holders, drop down basket), and the baby (i.e. a reclining seat, bassinet, and tray). Also, the car seat portion of the stroller is lightweight and easily attaches into the stroller and base. We were both very satisfied with our choice.

What we didn’t like about the Graco Quattro Stroller

This is a review so not everything I’m writing here is going to be positive. You deserve an honest opinion, and a full review so here are some cons to the Graco Quattro Stroller:

The stroller we chose is a bit big, so if you have a small car, it probably won’t fit. Luckily, we have a rather roomy SUV and the stroller easily fits in the back. To give you an indication of its size, some friends of ours have the Tour Deluxe and they drive a Toyota Camry. Their stroller fills up the majority of their trunk.

Also, it’s a a little heavy at nearly 30 lbs. This isn’t a problem for me but my wife, who is on the petite side, may have an issue loading, and unloading it from the back of our vehicle. I guess I’ll be the one doing most of the loading/unloading.

Conclusion

The pros of our Graco Quattro Stroller are its rugged construction, and its many features that provide comfort both for our baby, and us. The cons are its size and weight.

How to Provide Teething Relief to Your Child

The main symptoms of teeth eruption could give a rough time to the entire family: the baby is crying and refusing to eat and the parents are at the end of their rope because of the lack of sleep and the irritability of the baby. Teething relief does exist and you should not have to pass through all the nasty moments if you manage to recognize the signs that indicate teeth eruption. First of all, babies usually start drooling excessively even a week before other obvious symptoms may appear; drooling is not bothersome for the child and there is no teething relief for it. However, wiping the baby’s face clean as often as possible will reduce the risk of getting a skin rash or an infection.

Then, chewing and biting at things is the next clue that the baby is teething. A hard surface pressed against the gums reduces the soreness and brings temporary comfort to the little one. You can use special rubber toys, rings and even very hard biscuits for teething relief, with the mention that any item you give the child to chew on needs to be perfectly safe and hygienic. A teething ring can be cooled in the fridge beforehand since the cold helps reduce the swelling and the pain in the gums. Such a teething relief method should not be applied to various foods.

Some parents will cool a banana for instance before giving it to the infant or they will offer cold liquids administered with a spoon. Though these methods provide temporary teething relief they are nevertheless risky from other points of view: the child may get a sore throat, a cold or even an infection, particularly since the immune system is weaker during the teeth eruption period. You can however go for special teething granules, gels or foams that have an instant effect and soothe the baby very well.

Gently massaging the gums with a wet cloth or the finger provides teething relief; you could also use a brush for the matter and take advantage of the opportunity to start the education for a healthy oral hygiene. Always wash your hands well before treating the baby, and avoid using pain killers as much as possible. Though such drugs are generally designed in pediatric use formulas, they may not be very well tolerated by the digestive system of the child, and could therefore cause very unpleasant reactions.
